Context
Westnetz GmbH operates one of the largest and most diverse GIS landscapes in the German energy sector. In an environment defined by numerous applications, specialized procedures, and custom processes, a vast array of scripts, automations, and 'glue code' naturally evolves over time. While these individual extensions are critical, their maintenance and scalability become increasingly challenging as complexity grows. To ensure the long-term stability of their GIS processes, Westnetz partnered with Uptility GmbH. The objective was to optimize and standardize existing codebases, ensuring they are robust and ready for future requirements.
